The Problem

Austin, TX has one of the country's widest racial wealth disparities. With gentrification on the rise and a skills gap in technology widening, ReThink Austin "re-thinks" the city's trajectory, preventing a further divide between the educated and uneducated, the experienced and inexperienced, and the haves and have-nots.

The spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in 2020 exacerbated inequities across Central Texas, emphasizing the importance of an equitable solution.

The Solution

Create a fluent community of diverse individuals working to overcome societal barriers.

​

Connect organizations from various industries in order to share expertise, initiatives, and resources that promote entrepreneurship, technology, DEI, and community impact.

​

Create a knowledge-sharing environment by hosting impactful panel discussions, fireside chats, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities.

This event also contributes to AUTMHQ's awareness-to-employment pipeline, which aims to increase diversity in technology while also creating an ecosystem to close the wealth gap.
